In addition to web design and site programming we produce promotional videos. product demos. training and tutorial videos. Tower Media Design partners with many media companies In the area and Is a go-to resource for quality creative services. Tower Media Design is also active in creating original content and building it’s network of online properties.

Producer, Riser Media, American Fork, UT May 2010-November 2010
Riser Media is a full service graphic design and web solutions firm. Their clients include ABC/Disney, FOX, HBO, National Geographic, NBC and Warner Brothers, to name a few.

I was contracted to lead the web and design teams during a 6 month transitional period. My responsibilities included managing current client relationships, project milestones and deadlines, identifying and implementing improvements in processes, scoping/bidding/budgeting projects.

During my time at Riser we implemented a process of scoping that greatly increased the level of detailed information received from the potential client before work began which in turn increased the accuracy of project bids and identified risks earlier in the process, helping to avoid costly mistakes and increasing overall productivity.

Motion Graphics Artist, BYU Broadcasting, BYU, May 2008-August 2008
Project: BYU Devotional Intro Graphics
Background: BYU Broadcasting wanted to update the look of their intro graphics for their weekly devotionals which were over 10 years old.
Involvement:

  1. We produced and presented an initial concept along with a timeline and budget for completion which was accepted.
  2. We worked on the intro in our downtime between projects and delivered the completed product on time and within budget.

Result: The final bumper now plays at the beginning of each devotional on campus as well as BYUTV.

 

DVD Developer, BYU Center for Instructional Design, Provo UT,
August 2005-May 2007

Project: Masterful Conducting: BYU DVD Course Materials
Background: Masterful Conducting is a graduate level choral conducting course at BYU. The instructors wanted a multimedia aid that would facilitate students in learning the minute details required in mastering  the techniques taught in the course. After seven years and approximately $60,000 only 1 of 18 units had been completed.

Involvement:

  1. Set a schedule for production and the completion of each phase of the project.
  2. Significantly improved the processes for editing and creating the necessary graphics by implementing new editing techniques and software, reducing time and costs.
  3. Increased accountability by scheduling regular production meetings with the involved parties.
  4. Set processes for developing and testing the DVD, multiplying productivity when several new members were added to the team.

Result: Under my supervision, all 18 units spanning 7 DVDs were completed in just 2 years with a total additional cost of only $20,000. The DVD’s are currently in use in the BYU School of Music.

 

Audio/Video Specialist, Spin Media Marketing Inc., Provo,
May 2007-May 2008

Project: Spin Student Life DVD
Background: Spin Student Life evolved out of the need for businesses in Utah valley to more easily connect with the 55,000 students attending BYU and UVU in a fun and engaging way. Spin Student Life was released simultaneously as both a DVD and a website. The DVD was handed out and/or mailed to students to drive traffic to and interest in the website, which turned out to be a huge success. Many students surveyed who received the disc reported using it for several hours at a time and many more who used it shared it with their friends.
Involvement:

  1. Managed all design assets totaling over 5,000 files.
  2. Authored the final disc including 1500 menu screens, 20,00 buttons, games, videos, and a custom music player.
  3. Oversaw the work of design team to make sure their work met the specifications to be used in the DVD.
  4. Developed the processes utilized for testing and reporting bugs/fixes.

Result: The final product was delivered for duplication 99.9% error free and on schedule. The final budget for the project of $50,000 was met.
